  • If you are using a non-USB turntable, then it is strongly recommended to only connect to a phono-level input, such as that featured on the USB Phono-Level Audio Capture Device. If you connect directly to the mic or line input port on your computer's sound card, the volume of the recorded audio may not prove ideal.

  1. Connect the turntable to the computer. Wait about 10-15 seconds for the computer to detect and automatically install the drivers for the device.

  2. Download and install the Golden Records Analog to CD or MP3 Converter Software.

  3. The software will automatically open after installation. The Golden Records Wizard will appear, and will prompt you to setup the software prior to starting your recording. On the 'Recording Source' page, select the Connection Mode to 'Vinyl Record' and 'Via Amp or Pre-Amp' (which is the USB equivalent setting). Set the Recording Speed to the appropriate setting. On the 'Recording Volume Calibration' page, ensure the correct recording device is selected - the turntable will appear as its own sound device. Follow through the rest of the options in accordance with your preferences.

  4. The 'Recording Session' window will open next, where you can commence your vinyl to digital recordings.

  • These instructions can also work with other types of cassette tapes, such as reel-to-reel tapes, as long as the cassette player device, or the amplifier it is connected to, has red/white RCA output sockets.

  1. Connect the USB Audio Capture device to your computer. Wait about 10-15 seconds for the computer to detect and automatically install the drivers for the device.

  2. Connect your cassette player to the 'Line In' red/white RCA sockets on the USB Audio Capture Device, using an RCA audio cable.

  3. Download and install the Golden Records Analog to CD or MP3 Converter Software.

  4. The software will automatically open after installation. The Golden Records Wizard will appear, and will prompt you to setup the software prior to starting your recording. On the 'Recording Source' page, select the Connection Mode to 'Cassette Tape'. On the 'Recording Volume Calibration' page, ensure the correct recording device is selected - the USB Audio Capture Device will appear as its own sound device. Follow through the rest of the options in accordance with your preferences.

  5. The 'Recording Session' window will open next, where you can commence your cassette to digital recordings.
